Segway-Ninebot Partners with Tom Bogo for NYFW Celebrating Sustainability and Design

You may find this hard to believe, but I have never seen a Segway outside of television, film, or the news. Seriously. I remember reading about them when they started selling them, then there was that mall cop movie where some rent-a-cop is riding around in one, but that was my only exposure to these unusual vehicles. I’m a New Yorker and I practically live on the subway, so it’s not like there was ample opportunity for me to have seen one.

Of all the places you would expect one to see a Segway, I’m sure the runway was not one of those places. But, there they were on the third day of the Spring-Summer ‘22 New York Fashion Week event where Segway joined fashion designer Tom Bogo to display his new wares to the world. It’s a partnership that made perfect sense since sustainability is a core value of both brands. Bogo’s “Nature is Healing” SS22 collection is a celebration of sorts of the world’s imminent return to normalcy.

The event took place on the rooftop of Spring Studios (which, previously, I had no idea existed) and the models raced across its surface like madmen. JK! They elegantly rode their electric scooters across the green, showcasing Tom Bogo’s wonderful designs that incorporate repurposed and recycled materials. I suspect that the functional streetwear designer is soon to become a household name. The future of fashion depends upon designers like Tom who are concerned with how their products affect the environment.
